BSc in Biomedical Engineering Program is in English and consists of fundamental engineering, life sciences, professional engineering courses and their applications together with a variety of elective courses from different disciplines.
In the first year, students take fundamental courses from physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology.
In the second year, students take electrical circuits, electronics, computer programming, fluids and thermal sciences, mechanical and dynamics-related engineering courses, together with life sciences courses including human anatomy and physiology, biochemistry and genetics
In the third year, there are biomedical engineering core courses such as biomedical instrumentation, biomaterials, medical imaging and electromagnetics.
In the fourth year, there are elective courses such as bioelectricity, biomagnetism, biosignals and medical image processing; proteomics strategies in the clinic, mechanical vibrations, biotechnology and biopharmaceutics, tissue engineering, polymer engineering, nanomedicine.
In order to graduate from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, students need to complete 160 national credits (240 AKTS). For graduation; at least one social elective, at least three field electives and at least eight biomedical engineering electives should be completed. A summer internship requirement of 40 work days should be fulfilled in health and industrial institutions.
